Personalizing Your Resource Library

Internet Images
You can start by gathering images from the Internet and adding those to your resource library. If you are getting ready to teach a unit on weather, you might search for images of the different types of clouds. You can add these images to your resource library so you can pull them out on a whim! You're just gathering resources and putting them in your resource packs so they'll be handy when you need them. Here's how:
  • Search for images on the Internet. Copy the image you want and paste it on your blank flipchart page.
  • Now in your resource browser, click on My Resources. Click on the small icon after My Resources.

  • Choose Create New Folder and give it a name. (from my example name it Weather)
  • Now highlight that folder by clicking on it.
  • Drag the internet image from your flipchart over to that folder.
  • That's it! Now add some more weather images from the Internet and soon you'll have enough resources to begin creating your flipchart.

Resource Packs
A resource pack is a kit of images around a given topic. You might search for a money resource pack or a resource pack on time. You'll probably get several different clocks to use in making flipcharts.
  • Search for a resource pack on a current topic.
  • Download a resource pack and save it to your desktop (it won't stay there!).
  • Double click on the resource pack.
  • It will ask you if you want to import it to your resources or Shared Resources. I usually choose Shared Resources.
  • That's it - now delete resource pack from the desktop.
  • Go into your ActivInspire Resources and you should see it.
